So…. let me preface this a bit. This is the first time I shot with an SLR that wasn’t a Polaroid from the ’70’s. I rented a Canon 5D Mark II and a couple Speedlites on a friday evening and frantically learned how to use it before the next day. You see I signed up to do a senior portrait without ever doing one before and without ever shooting digital. Overall I’m stoked about the results. I feel like I just stepped on the tip of an iceberg. I learned a lot about what I want to do next time and also that shooting in freezing temperatures hurts the hands:) Also, first time editing photos, never thought I’d ever ‘edit’ photos, I’m so used to it just being there on film as it was and thats it. Even now posting these I think I need to touch up under her eyes a bit on some of these, lighten up those shadows? I feel like its cheating but is that what people expect from their portraits?
Heres a handful. Please let me know what you think, give me some pointers!! Seriously!
