Dobsy & Alex

polaroid engagement photography

Dobsy & Alex got engaged. The Dobs who I met last year just before we went on a crazy trip to Rio De Janeiro with the folks from the Resound Conference , he is an upstanding and talented man… who soo after meeting I happened to hike 8 miles with into Rocky Mountain National Park last summer to get some photos… here, here & here. Alex is a tattooed girl with a passionate heart for God and happened to catch Dobsy’s eye at church.

They’re true to their style… and it was 4th of July so we tossed some ideas back and forth and I then tracked down a couple Levi’s trucker jackets by way of thrift stores, hunted for some long branches in the woods, and grabbed some fabric locally. Add some scissors, string, and motor oil to the mix and we got something goin… We went out and found some big sand piles… it was fun, they dug it, I dug it. It fit their personalities well!

Here’s a few frames from the evening. A wee bit of variety… Im always torn… do I post everything I like? or cut to the chase with some favorites? My original post had about 20 more frames than this… what do you folks want to see?

For the photogs: The first few are through my Contax G2 w/fuji 400h… then I realized that I left my box of Portra which I wanted to shoot all evening, at home (#fail) luckily I had my 5d as back up I guess! :/ Polaroids are through the 195 with expired 669 film. Digital edits were my first go around with VSCO.

Laura Reaux - These are so rad! The Polaroids are my favorites, but they’re all awesome.

I try to stick with posting favorites on our blog, because that’s what I love seeing on other blogs.

jarrod - Thanks Laura!! Gotcha on the fav thing… thinking thats what I’ll stick with, thats my gut anyways:)
